Little Crockshard Farm Shop was started in 1970 by Bob (a 4th generation farmer) and Win Gibson selling Apples and Pears direct from the farm to the consumer.
Mike, their son, studied Agriculture and Horticulture in the late 1960s at Hadlow College, Kent and the produce range quickly came to include a wide variety of fruit and vegetables.
Mike’s wife Kate introduced the floristry department in the late 1980s after training at Hadlow College. To date she has designed flowers for over 400 weddings and arranged flowers at many prestigious venues and events, such as the House of Parliament and St James Palace.
Mike and Kate have two sons Jeffrey and Andrew. Jeff also trained at Hadlow College in Agriculture and Horticulture and has a passion for livestock. Rearing the cows, pigs and sheep and growing a large proportion of their feed. Jeff has been responsible for the butchery department since 2005.
Andrew achieved a degree in Rural Land Management from The Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester in 2005, and after working in the surveying field for two years wanted to get back to his roots in Agriculture. He put his degree and knowledge of farming to use by planning and overseeing every step of the Gibsons Farm Shop build.
The passion and the ambition of the third generation of Gibsons at Little Crockshard Farm pushed forward the construction of a custom built Farm Shop proudly trading under the family name which opened in summer 2010.
We provide all your daily grocery needs, as well as specialising in high quality free range produce.
With the current spotlight on food production and food miles we can proudly say that we are not just a ‘Farm Shop’ by name, our Farm Shop is on a working Farm and run by farmers!
